The Mansion House is one of a few remaining reminders of Doncaster’ elegant Georgian heritage.
The Friends of Doncaster Mansion House was formed in January 2015 to work with Doncaster Council to conserve, restore, and interpret the Mansion House and its collections, whilst increasing the opportunities to visit.
The group provide practical volunteering support by putting on events and raising funds for future projects.
The Friends of Doncaster Mansion House is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, whose objectives are:-
(1) To assist with the conservation of Doncaster Mansion House and its collections.
(2) To establish an education and research programme.
(3) To increase awareness of James Paine, the Mansion House architect.
The Mansion House volunteers are friendly and enthusiastic people who help to bring the building to life. They inspire our visitors and help them to learn more about the Mansion House in an interesting and enjoyable way.
Our Guides and Events volunteers tell the stories of the building and the people who worked and socialised in it. Our Research volunteers like to help us to discover and share stories so far untold.
If you have an interest in history, in meeting people and would like to join our volunteer group, please contact us. Full training will be given.
